So basically this guy was fortunate enough to get cast in an episode of Community, and now he’s trying to take the character (that he does not own), raise (exploit?) $20,000 from fans of the show, and then make (unapproved?) webisodes…..based on intellectual property that he didn’t create, which itself was a parody of another long existing, well known intellectual property.

But don’t worry, he’s not making any money off of this…he’s just going to use it to buy $20,000 in cameras, lights, sound, lenses, computers and other production gear.  Because we all know that stuff is useless after one shoot.

Does anyone else see something very wrong with this?

(I have no idea, but if NBC, or Dan have signed off on this then I take it all back and wish this guy luck.)

I’m going to one-up this guy and start a Kickstarter to make Community.

NBC/Community can easily fire this dufus and regenerate another Inspector Spacetime.

Reblogging my own shit since people are still giving this guy money.

Is this wrong and stupid. Yes.. of course. Do I think this is an elaborate money making scheme? No. I’m more sad than anything else, sad that  someone with a bit part written by someone else is so unaware of what he is doing. The sales pitch is pretty intense. He thinks he is the only person to be able to bring us someone else’s material that’s only a year old… because we deserve it? The only thing more uncomfortable than this would be the Walk of Fame Sponge bob making a kickstarter to buy medicine for his diabetic daughter…. you thought I was going somewhere else with that.

I think it’s sad :( That is worse in my book than anything else…

This is one of the two reasons that stopped me from giving money. The other being that I myself do not have any money.
