When I moved to LA I had a giant 20gb mp3 player, pictured below. I was awesome/lame enough to have an “LA playlist.” There were a few songs on there that had the word California in the title because I was awesome/lame and was moving to California. This is one such song.

Holy shit… it’s been a minute since I’ve heard a 5 seconds of a song and immediately locked on.
FUCK, this is kismit. I needed some sulky music.

Fall Winter has officially begun and in turn my dreams of moving back to LA have also.

A Ramble about The Hype Machine by a 27th grader.
I’ve been using the Hype Machine since 2007. That’s almost 6 years of use. I use the site daily and nightly (Will I ever stop? I don’t know.) I digress, hitting shuffle on my page is a memory bomb. BOOOM. Locked away in my Hype history is an unintended journal. My Hype List has been there for work time, alone time, party time, shower time, sexy time, sexy alone time(synonymous with sexy time), and every time in between, even poopy times. I’d really love to be able to easily extract my list along with the date each song was loved, then I’d like to put that information on a calendar along with all of the emails I’ve sent and received on those days. I think with that information I could travel back in time. I’d tell myself to layoff the food a bit and be conscious of how my posture and daily habits affect my back. I’d also have sex with myself because why not, right? Am I right?
I preach Hype daily. Anyone I meet interested in music gets a lecture on why they need to have and use it. I’ve gotten 7 people to sign up in the last 9 months, 5 co-workers and 2 of the actors from the game I’m working on. Even better is seeing a friends band on there now. It’s like knowing someone on TV. 21 likes is not earth shattering but it’s just nice to see.
Looking through my list I am amazed at all the music I discovered via hype that I still listen to. It sounds dramatic, maybe not more than crying if the site went down, but I don’t know how I would have been able to hear all this great music otherwise. My life would probably not be too different but it certainly would have sucked more musically.
My first love: Okkervil River and Daniel Johnston - Happy Hearts
My current Obsession w/ 65 plays total: MVSCLES-Where You Are
In closing, please use Hype Machine as it is awesome. Thank you.
The intro/beggining of this is pretty flucking epic.
via Balam Acab’s Soundcloud page.Slow dramatic moments style. Which in my life means staring blankly out the window while it starts to rain struggling with real decisions… like if I want to watch the rest of this Cosby Show rerun or go food shopping.

Krispy Kreme - Coolest Guys (by Krispy Kreme)
I’ve stated several times that Parody Rap is dead because of The Lonely Island but this is very charming.
…also this.
When is the last time you heard anybody actually tell a story? I realize what I am saying here but really it’s so weird to actually hear something narrative.
